CBD Tinctures

What is a CBD tincture and why should I use it?

Most of us know by now about the benefits of CBD, but some still don't understand the benefit of taking it by tincture and how to do that? Simply put, a tincture is a concentrated herbal extract that's made by soaking herbs in a liquid. Over several weeks, the fluid becomes infused with herbal extracts, and when the herbs are strained out, you're left with a potent, ingestible tincture.

Hempward Farms' CBD Tinctures are made with family-grown hemp made into extract, and mixed with organic MCT oil from coconuts. For labeling, we call them CBD Oils.

Why use a tincture over softgel or gummy? Dosing is easily adjustable. Let's say you want just 15mg CBD to help you focus, and you have a 750mg bottle of CBD Oil. Take just over a half dropper. Later that day, you feel achy following a long hike. Take a full dropper plus a little more to ease your soreness before bed.

Since tinctures are absorbed through the mucous membranes under the tongue, they enter the bloodstream very quickly, usually in about 20 minutes.

How do I take a Tincture?

First, it's important to shake well. Next fill the dropper with the amount of CBD Oil desired. Note that a "full" dropper is really about 2/3 of a dropper. It's the amount of liquid sucked up by one squeeze of the rubber bulb. Squirt it under your tongue and wait at least 20 seconds before swallowing. This allows the tincture to absorb into the thin membranes under your tongue. That's it!

Tinctures can also be added to tea or smoothies, and you can rub CBD Oil directly onto your skin where you feel soreness.
